We're very happy to introduce...
Sans Frontières EBW17 wrap - woven by DIDYMOS - Das Babytragetuch specially to celebrate European Babywearing Week of 8-14 May 2017.
This cloth is the result of a genuinely collaborative effort across all European national borders, showing the phrase "I carry you always" in over 30 European languages.
The idea of an European Babywearing Week first developed in November 2016, and Rosie Knowles began the process of bringing this week into reality earlier this year. A Facebook group, involving people from at least 14 nations, was used to co-ordinate efforts to create, translate and design the EBW17 image and bring the week into life. Many, many people have been involved in this project right from the start.
Daily, people in need arrive in Europe, and the European Babywearing Week seeks to alleviate some of their needs. Therefore the 5euros from proceeds of each sale of this cloth go directly to the charity Medecins Sans Frontieres, from which the cloth takes its name.

This cloth is woven with a colour gradient and fine writing. Front and back appear quite different. On the natural-white side the writing appears in fine colour, on the back, the colour is vibrant and the writing is mirror-reflected in natural white. The motif is woven in elaborate jacquard technique, it is not printed. Jacquard weaves, despite their high strength, are characterised by particular elasticity.
